Process Inspection

Process Inspection

An inspection involves checking something, i.e., examining and assessing something. ... In the world of business, inspection is the critical appraisal of materials, items, or systems involving examination, testing, and gauging. Inspectors take measurements and make comparisons.

The term inspection refers to the activity of checking products, whereas audit applies to analyzing manufacturing processes and/or systems. The quality inspector usually follows a pre-established checklist that is based on the product specifications

Inspect the test results from in-process tests performed for conformance with established sampling and testing protocols, analytical methods, and specifications.  For example, evaluate the tests for weight variation, hardness, and friability.

The set of hardware, software, procedures, and activities that are integrated in the manufacturing system in order to provide measurements of dimensional characteristics of manufactured products and tools during the manufacturing process.

The whole manufacturing process shall be subject to the process inspection, and the inspection shall be carried out by document review and onsite inspection.  In the inspection, it shall be confirmed that the whole process is established from reception of materials to processing, assembly, inspection, and delivery, and the process conforms to the type design data as well as that the manufactured product will not be allowed to deviate from the design data when the process is applied.

In-process or During Production inspection is the process of examining those products that are ready to be shipped. It is a very vital aspect of Quality Control (QC) system involved in the production process

In this inspection (time-based) is used for recording the result for an in-process quality check for the intermediate and finished product during the production process. For example, inspection in every two hours, inspection per shift, etc
