Six Sigma Online’s Yellow Belt certification provides an overall insight to the techniques of Six Sigma, its metrics, and basic improvement methodologies. Students will learn how to integrate Six Sigma methodologies for the improvement of production and transactional systems to better meet customer expectations and bottom-line objectives of their organization. It provides an introduction to process management and the basic tools of Six Sigma, giving employees a stronger understanding of processes, enabling each individual to provide meaningful assistance in achieving the organization’s overall objectives. They also: – Improve effectiveness of employees in their support role of Six Sigma – Improve personnel buy-in of Six Sigma – Improve day-to-day workplace activities (resulting in a reduction of cycle times, improved quality, and less waste) A Yellow Belt is an individual who has received introductory training in the fundamentals of Six Sigma. The Yellow Belt gathers data, participates in problem-solving exercises and adds their personal experiences to the exploration process. Not only do Yellow Belts gain the skills necessary to identify, monitor and control profit-eating practices in their own processes, but they are also prepared to feed that information to Black Belts and Green Belts working on larger system projects.
The Yellow Belt course provides a basic understanding of the necessary strategies, methods, techniques and tools for enacting the improvement process. Specifically, the Yellow Belt course teaches the fundamentals of improvement and process management by preparing people to identify measurement scales, define critical process factors, collect data, characterize processes, make easy improvements and cultivate project opportunities.

Developing Green Belts is a very powerful approach for cascading Six Sigma approaches and techniques throughout an organization. Green belts receive a subset of the more comprehensive Black Belt curriculum. Green Belt Training emphasizes : A structured problem-solving methodology for addressing business improvement projects; Use of intermediate quality tools within that methodology; and Generating bottom-line financial results.This level of skills and knowledge enables Green Belts to serve as high performing team members on Black Belt project teams as well as valued participants on project that do not require the Black Belt level of analysis and rigor. Green Belt candidates can be employees at virtually all levels in the organization – front line employees, engineers, etc.

The Six Sigma Black Belt Program gives your participants the skills and knowledge they need for the exceptional leadership of business improvement projects. Upon completing each segment of training, participants immediately apply concepts and tools taught in training to their real-time improvement projects. Black belts are experts groomed in the Six Sigma Methodology and advanced statistical tools. They can come from all functions of your organization. Although participants do not need to be statisticians, they need to be willing to use statistical tools to apply Six Sigma. Black Belt participants learn to use the DMAIC model for process improvement and statistical tools and techniques to make fact-based decisions.
